Asus UX21 Price, Specs and Release Date

According to reports, the ultrathin Asus UX21 laptop which Asus unveiled at the recently held Computex event in Taiwan will retail for less than US$1,000 and will be made available to the public in September.

Asus is reportedly aiming for a retail price that is about 80-90 percent of the price of Apple’s Macbook Air notebooks.  This aggressive pricing strategy puts the Asus UX21 at an advantage over the Macbook Air since it will be strutting second generation Intel Core i5 and i7 processors.

The Asus UX21 has an 11.6-inch screen and measures 3mm at its thinnest and 17mm at its thickest.  The body is built from aluminum alloy and weighs only 1.1kg (2.4lb).

  1. My Wished is the price would be lowered that could make consumers more affordable to choose ASUS than other brands.

    • According to Digitimes, Asus will also release a 13-inch version

      • I think you missed the point Jordan Grey was trying to make to you. The price of the 13 inch MacBook Air is $1,299.00.  If Asus sells the UX21 for 90% cheaper then the UX21 price would be $129.90.

          • Um…i think u guys need to re read the article…doesn’t it say “…price that is about 80-90 percent of the price of Apple’s Macbook Air notebooks” meaning it’s only around 10-20% cheaper than an air.

            • 80-90% of $1,299 would be (0.80 * $1,299) = $1039.20 to (0.90 * $1,299) = $1169.10 … Which is also equivalent to being 10-20% cheaper than $1,299, as proven here:
              ($1,299 – 0.10 * $1,299) = $1169.10 to ($1,299 – 0.20 * $1,299) = $1039.20
