The cheap mobile phone market just got more crowded with the entry of new player Olive Telecom. Companies behind MyPhone, Cherry Mobile and Torque will have to step up their game to maintain their share in this phone market segment.
Olive Telecom is an Indian company which offers super cheap dual-SIM phones ranging from P1,500 to P4,000. But where the other three companies outsource its products from OEMs in China Olive Telecom has its own research development facility. The company has four innovation labs in China and India, and its products are manufactured by known OEMs for branded consumer electronics such as Haier, Foxconn and Flextronics.
Olive Mobile will initially introduce seven phone models, which include touch phones and QWERTY phones. These phone models are the V-G1100 Olive Compacta, V-G8000 Olive Messenger, V-G3200 Lumen, V-G3100 Olive Superb, V-G800 Olive Buzz, V-G700 Olive Ark and V-G70 Olive Atom.
