I finally decided to get the new 11-inch MacBook Air. I am currently using a Windows 7 laptop but I wanted to try Mac OSX again. I owned a MacBook Pro a couple of years ago and thought my life would be less complicated if I were on Windows instead of OSX, so I sold the Pro. But with the recent updates to OSX and the impressive specs of the newest Airs, the 11-inch rig was just too tempting.
Fortunately, I got the unit for a cheaper price. Locally, the lowest configuration retails for about P52,000 if you get it from authorized Apple retailers, and about P50,000 if you get it from Apple’s online store in the Philippines. I was able to get mine for only P42,000, which is about the same as the US price (US$999). I will be posting a hands-on review of the 11-inch MacBook Air soon. In the meantime, here is a short unboxing video.
