Samsung Confirms (Sort of) the Nexus Prime Android Handset

There is no dearth of rumors for Google’s upcoming Nexus phone.  But until someone authoritative on the matter says anything about the rumors, most of us don’t really believe them.   The legal team from Samsung, however, could have just confirmed the rumors on the Nexus Prime when it tried to stop someone from leaking the firmware build of Google’s upcoming superphone.

The people from Geek.com got a copy of the email sent by Samsung’s legal team attempting to stop a rumored leak of the firmware for the Nexus Prime. This somehow confirms that the next phone is indeed the Nexus Prime and the firmware leak is true.

The letter says:

It has come to our attention that you are wrongfully in possession of, and intend to release or otherwise publicly disclose without Samsung’s consent, firmware for the Nexus Prime.

The Nexus Prime firmware is the exclusive property of Samsung and/or its partners, suppliers and affiliates.

We can only speculate as to the full specs of the Nexus Prime though.  So far, there are rumors that the Nexus Prime will be the first to run Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and is said to pack a 4.5-inch screen with 720p resolution.  It will likely run on a super fast 1.5GHz dual-core processor and a PowerVR SGX540 GPU running at a higher clock speed.  The handset will have the new generation SuperAMOLED display according to some rumors.
