Smart Netphone 701 Unboxing [Video]

By now you’ve probably already heard about the Smart Netphone 701.  This phone is Smart Communication’s newest offering, marrying a reasonably priced Android smartphone with an ecosystem called the SmartNet, a social hub where users can enjoy mobile social networking, instant messaging, and a suite of Android apps and widgets.  What you get from the Smart Netphone 701, therefore, are unique features like the Smart Inbox, IM, Social Stream and Smart Center.

The Netphone 701 hardware is the ZTE Blade in other countries and if you’re already familiar with this handset, its essentially the same in design and specs, but what Smart did different with the Netphone 701 is the customization of the Android OS.  The Smart Netphone is available on prepaid for P9,900.  For postpaid accounts, the Netphone is free at Plan 1200.  Access to SmartNet services is still free until December but this could be extended according to Smart.

Here are the hardware specs of the Smart Netphone 701.

  1. Icant use my phone its saying system timeout the entire day! Darrn useless!

  2. Minus the Smartnet, which is better: the Smart Netphone or a Samsung Galaxy Ace via Sun’s 999 call-and-surf unlimited? Thanks

    • hi divine. are you sure you want to upgrade? you’ll lose the smartnet features if you do that. why don’t you just wait for the official Gingerbread update from Smart?

you could upgrade to gingerbread and still retain smartnet. the APK is already available in the net.
