In the family of new devices unveiled by Amazon today, the cheapest is the $79 Kindle e-reader simply called “Kindle”. The other devices unveiled are the Kindle Fire, priced at $199, and the Kindle Touch, priced at $99.
The $79 Kindle is an ultra low price version of the current 6-inch E-Ink Kindle. At 5.98 ounces and 0.34-inches thick, the Kindle is said to be 30 percent lighter and 18 percent smaller than the predecessor. What’s conspicuously missing is the keyboard. For the $79 price, Amazon has “Special Offers” being pushed to the device. If you wan the Kindle without the deals, the device will cost $109.
