Apart from treating us to two new Windows Phone 7 handsets, Nokia also recently unveiled the Asha phone line-up — the Asha 200, 201, 300 and 303. These are all Series 40 handsets that occupy the lower-end of Nokia’s range of phones.
The 300 and 303 are touchscreen phones. The Asha 303 is the best-specced of the bunch, being equipped with a 2.6-inch display, a full QWERTY keyboard and a 1GHz processor. It will be available before the end of the year for €115 (about $160). The Asha 300 also has a 2.6-inch display and offers an alphanumeric keypad, a 1GHz processor, a 5-megapixel camera and support for 3G networks. It’ll be priced at €85 ($120) and will be available in Q4 2011.
The Asha 201 and 200 are similar in almost all respects, only that the Asha 200 is a dual-SIM phone that has up to 32GB of storage and up to 52 hours media playback. Both of these phones will be available for €60 ($85); the 200 is going to ship before the end of the year, while the 201 will be ready for your purchase by Q1 2012.
All four Asha phones are made of polycarbonate and come with a Nokia Browser, which is powered by the cloud and compresses data by up to 90 percent. Your favorite Angry Birds game will be made available soon on Series 40 handsets.
