If you have an iPhone 4S, you can now use the app to write text for you on your Mac device.  An app called Air Dictate allows you to use the voice dictation capabilities of Siri for composing your documents on your Mac.  Air Dictate itself costs only $1.

What happens is that you speak into your iPhone 4S and Siri will recognize and transmit this in text form to your Mac using any application with text input.

Here’s how to use Air Dictate.

  •  Download Air Dictate on iTunes or App Store
  • Go to Avatron’s Website and Download the Air Dictate Receiver software
  • Make sure your iPhone and Mac are on the same Wi-Fi network
  • Launch the text editor on your Mac
  • Press the air dictate button t begin dictation.

Air Dictate only works on Macs right now but this could change in the future.  It only supports the iPhone 4S, so jailbroken iPhone 4’s will not work with the app.
