Razer Unveils Project Fiona, Razer Naga Hex and Synapse 2.0

Razer, maker of gaming hardware and peripherals, has made a few announcements at CES 2012 including the unveiling of its newest gaming concept design – the Project Fiona PC Gaming Tablet.  The company also released a new gaming mouse called the Razer Naga Hex MOBA/action-RPG gaming mouse.  It also announced that it’s bringing its cloud-based unified driver and peripherals management software, Razer Synapse 2.0 out of beta.

Project Fiona Gaming Tablet

Project Fiona Gaming Tablet is Razer’s latest gaming concept design – a tablet created purely for PC gaming. Razer worked with Intel to harness its third generation Intel Core i7 processor in Project Fiona. Razer’s tablet will run full-fledged PC games that have never run on a tablet form factor before until today – so that PC gamers can play all their favourite games while on the go.

In order to achieve this, the Razer team has designed a unique set of controls specifically for Project Fiona, developing integrated dual game controllers with ultra-precise analog sticks and accelerometers, and a highly sensitive multi-touch screen in order to deliver an intense gaming experience.

This provides game developers with new game experiential opportunities to develop around the hybrid game control experience offered by Project Fiona.  It also ensures current-generation PC games run on the tablet concept, as well as any existing games optimised for the touchscreen interface of a tablet.

The Project Fiona PC Gaming Tablet will start shipping Q4 2012.

Razer Naga Hex

The Naga Hex is Razer’s all-new gaming mouse designed for MOBA / action-RPG players with its user-interface and gameplay optimization being inspired by the award-winning Razer Naga MMO gaming mouse. Featuring six large thumb buttons conceived for intensive clicking, an ergonomic shape developed to reduce strain, interchangeable thumb rests and Synapse 2.0 enabled so you can access your user settings from any computer; the Naga Hex is for serious gamers.

The Naga Hex will be available at Razerzone.com for pre-orders 10 January, 2012 with products being shipped end of January. It will be available worldwide March 2012.

Synapse 2.0

The world’s first cloud-based unified driver and peripherals management software Razer Synapse 2.0 has officially moved out of the beta stage and is now available for public download. At the moment, Synapse 2.0 currently supports the Star Wars: The Old Republic gaming peripherals by Razer, the Razer Blade gaming laptop, Razer Naga HEX action-RPG/MOBA gaming mouse, and the award-winning Razer Naga MMO gaming mouse. As a unified driver for all upcoming Razer products, Razer Synapse 2.0 also automatically downloads game add-ons, and firmware updates as they become available, ensuring Razer devices are always updated.
