The Samsung Galaxy Nexus, the “pure” Google phone and the first ever smartphone to run on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, is going to Smart Communications. The telco just confirmed that it will be exclusively distributing the Galaxy Nexus in the Philippines.
The Samsung Galaxy Nexus is Google’s flagship phone, being the handset that other Ice Cream Sandwich phones will be measured against. Ice Cream Sandwich looks and feels like an entirely new OS. I have been using the Galaxy Nexus for almost a month now and I am very satisfied with the OS. It’s quick and it looks great. For my hands-on review of the Galaxy Nexus, go here.
The Samsung Galaxy Nexus will soon be available in Smart stores nationwide and will be free at Smart Postpaid Unli Data Plan 2000. Smart’s Unli Data Plans provide unlimited mobile Internet and free calls and SMS. This is the only detail provided by Smart so far with respect to pricing. It’s not yet known if this will be offered on prepaid, or on other plans for that matter. If you want to get the handset ahead of the others, the Galaxy Nexus is now available for pre-order until January 27, 2012 via smart.com.ph/samsung-nexus.
