Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 Launched, Priced at P32,990

Samsung just launched the Galaxy Tab 7.7 in the Philippines.   Just for reference, Samsung is currently offering 4 tablet sizes – 7.0”, 7.7”, 8.9” and 10.1”.   If you include the Galaxy Note here, that makes it a total of 5 sizes.  It’s obvious that Samsung wants every possible tablet size covered.

How different is the Galaxy Tab 7.7 from its brothers?  For one, the Galaxy Tab 7.7 is the only Samsung tablet to use a Super AMOLED Plus panel. And while the Galaxt Tab 8.9 and 10.1 use Nvidia Tegra 2 processor, the Galaxy Tab 7.7 is powered by a dual-core Samsung Exynos 1.4GHz chip.  It also appears that it’s the only tablet to utilize actual metal materials.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 is thin at only 7.9mm and it’s also light at only 340 grams.  The tablet runs on Android 3.2 Honeycomb but an ICS upgrade should be available in the future.  Samsung Philippines is offering the Galaxy Tab 7.7 at P32,990.

    • they’re packaging it as a premium tablet. the finish is made of real metal, not just brushed plastic. plus the screen is Super AMOLED Plus which is better than Super AMOLED.

    • And it’s tougher than nails, like heck, I dropped a test unit accidentally before –  3 feet above the ground, FACE DOWN – and it still works like nothing happened. But I’m looking forward to a price drop as well. I’ll be buying one ‘coz I work in the field most of the time.
