Upcoming Samsung Galaxy S III Just 7mm Thick?

There are numerous rumors coming out regarding the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S III.  There’s no question that the handset will be coming out as Samsung itself has already confirmed that it will be launching the phone within the first half of 2012.  The specs have not been revealed yet and all that we have at this point are rumors from various sources.

The latest rumors that have come out regarding the Samsung Galaxy S III have something to do with its thickness and the approximate date of release.   BGR has compiled a few rumors about the handset and according to one of the newest rumors, the Samsung Galaxy S III will have a thickness of only 7mm.

At 7mm, the Samsung Galaxy S III will be one of the thinnest smartphones in the world.  In comparison, the current Samsung Galaxy S II is 8.49mm thick and it is already very thin by smartphone standards.  That would make the upcoming Galaxy S III a sexy piece of hardware.  On that rumored 7mm thin case, Samsung will reportedly squeeze in a quad-core processor, a Super AMOLED Plus display and 2GB of RAM.  The phone is also rumored to have 4G LTE connectivity and is expected to run on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

BGR also mentioned that the release of the Samsung Galaxy S III could be in May, although the launch will be earlier, which will be in April.

Remember that these are all rumors.
