Crumpler’s Limited Edition Bags

I have to hand it to Crumpler.  The Australian bag company not only comes up with interesting bag designs, it also comes up with interesting bag names as well.  Who would have thought that 5 Million Dollar, 4 Million Dollar, Barney Rustle, the Hoax and Western Lawn all refer to bags?  If you’re a follower of this blog, you will remember that I previously featured Crumpler products with interesting names – The Noose, The Limpet and The Carrot.  Crumpler’s products are well-designed and well-thought of, not to mention sturdy and long lasting.  If you’re worrying about the toughness of Crumpler’s bags, there’s nothing to worry about since its products have lifetime warranties.  Now let’s take a closer look at these five limited edition Crumpler bags – 5 Million Dollar, 4 Million Dollar, Barney Rustle, The Hoax and Western Lawn.

4 Million Dollar Home

The 4 Million Dollar Home is not a house – it’s a camera bag.  You may call it a “home” alright, but it’s more like a home for your camera and accessories.  This is big enough for your DSLR and possibly one or two short lenses.  It has just the right amount of pockets and slots for your basic DSLR camera set-up.  This is ideal for your quick and short trips where you need only to carry your basic setup.  The construction is good and the materials are very sturdy.  It’s water resistant and has quick access pockets and the space allotments can be customized. Try this out if you’re a casual shooter.

Features:

  • velcro silencers
  • flexible, accessible space
  • wide, adjustable length shoulder strap
  • accessory loop
  • waterproofing measures
  • anti-absrasive surfaces

5 Million Dollar Home

This one is very much similar to the 4 Million Dollar Home.  This one is however bigger and accommodates more accessories and a bigger camera setup.  It offers a bigger capacity and it’s also more flexible and more customizable than the 4 Million.  The construction and materials are still top notch, something that you expect from products from Crumpler.  If you have a need for a bigger camera bag, possibly because you have more lenses or a bigger external flash, give this guy a shot. It will keep your camera setup protected, even from water.

Features:

  • velcro silencers
  • flexible, accessible space
  • wide, adjustable length strap
  • padded carry handle
  • quad accessory loops
  • waterproofing measures

The Barney Rustle Blanket

The Barney Rustle Blanket is a messenger bag that offers a lot of features. It has a great design and color scheme to boot.  It has just the right size and fits A4/foolscap-sized folders, with a 14-litre capacity main compartment.  It can also accommodate your gadgets thanks to an array of easy access pockets. It has a secure lock, using dual velcro flap seals and closure straps with quick release locks.  You also get an extra-wide, padded shoulder strap with a “third leg” that will surely keep the bag stable in your shoulder.  It’s water resistant, of course, and even has a reflector strip and accessory loops.

Features:

  • flexible, accessible space
  • dual velcro flap fasteners
  • wide, adjustable length strap with removable shoulder pad
  • dual quick release compression straps
  • third leg stabilizer

Western Lawn

Another curious name, another excellent product.  The Western Lawn is more like a personal messenger bag, with just enough storage space and enough number of features.  This bag is a fan of the less-is-more philosophy.  It’s does not skimp on features though.  It can carry A4/foolscap-sized folders and also has compartments for a few other stuff and gadgets.  With the Western Lawn, you get two external pockets, three internal pockets and a large main cargo space.  The bag is also water resistant of course and features a dual velcro-fastened flap for security. There’s also a strap trap accessory loop and a Quick Flick buckle for adjusting the carrying height.

Features:

  • flexible, accessible space
  • dual velcro flap fasteners
  • wide, adjustable length shoulder strap
  • strap trap accessory loop
  • waterproofing measures
  • anti-absrasive surfaces

The Hoax

The Hoax is probably my personal favorite because of its portability.  It is smaller than the previous two messenger bags, but its made of the same material and has the same sturdy construction.  It’s portable but it can carry just the right amount of personal stuff.  This is a perfect daily bag for city slickers.  It can carry a laptop, a book, a folder, or what have you.  It also has a few pockets for smaller stuff.   It also features dual-velcro flap fasteners, adjustable length strap and removable sholder pad.

Features:

  • flexible, accessible space
  • dual velcro flap fasteners
  • wide, adjustable length strap with removable shoulder pad
  • dual quick release compression straps
  • dual accessory loops
  • reflective stripes
