Research In Motion just announced that the new BlackBerry PlayBook OS 2.0 is already available for download starting today. BlackBerry PlayBook OS 2.0 introduces a new communications and productivity enhancements as well as expanded support for app and content.
BlackBerry PlayBook OS 2.0 now uses an integrated email client with a unified inbox that consolidates all messages in one place, including messages from Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter, as well as personal and work email accounts. It also has
social integration with calendar and contacts apps, with contact cards dynamically populated with updated information from Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn.
The update also comes with an updatedBlackBerryBridgeapp that provides a Bluetooth connection between BlackBerry PlayBook and core apps on BlackBerry smartphones, allowing users to view the content on the tablet’s display. The updatedBlackBerryBridgeapp now has remote control features, transforming BlackBerry smartphones into wireless keyboards and mice for the BlackBerry PlayBook.
BlackBerry Playbook OS 2.0 also seeks to improve mobile productivity with its updated document editing functions, a new Print To Go app and BlackBerry Balance. It also has an updated virtual keyboard with auto correction and predictive next word completion.
