Nokia Lumia 610 Windows Phone Announced

The Nokia 808 PureView may have grabbed the headlines at the Mobile World Congress 2012 but Nokia also announced new Asha phones and a new Windows Phone, the Lumia 610.  The Lumia 610 is being geared towards budget-conscious users with its lower than usual set of specs.  Windows Phone can now support devices with low specs thanks to the Tango update to version 7.5. Tango optimizes Windows Phone to support lower memory and processor requirements.

Nokia sets its eyes on the young audience with the Lumia 610 which features 3.7-inch WVGA (800 x 480) capacitive touchscreen display, 8GB of storage and only 256MB of RAM.  It will have an auto-focus camera and will let users stay connect through HSDPA Cat 7, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth 2.1 +.  The Lumia 610 will pack a 1,300mAh battery, enough to give users 6.5 hours of talk-time and 530 of standby.

The Lumia 610 will get Nokia’s new suite of apps that include Nokia Maps, Nokia Drive, Nokia Transport and Nokia Music.  Nokia Transport provides door-to-door, underground, tram, suburban train, and bus directions for over 500 cities across 46 countries.  Nokia Drive, on the other hand, is a voice-guided, turn by turn navigation app. The Lumia 610 will also have Nokia Reading which provides an integrated hub experience.

The Nokia Lumia 610 will be available in white, cyan, magenta and black and will be released in Q2 for the price of at 189 euros (around P11,000).

I’m really thrilled with this! I’m always a Nokia user but lately i’m planning to buy Samsung Ace or Samsung Fit but now with this news-I’m confuse! Looking forward to your review on this Nokia 610 Windows phone. And if you can compare them with Samsung’s.  Thanks! :)
