And so the rumors were true. Samsung was indeed planning on launching a 10.1 version of the Galaxy Note. At the ongoing Mobile World Congress 2012, Samsung took the lid off its newest tablet, the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1. This certainly makes Samsung’s tablet lineup very crowded, especially in markets where network-specific versions are common. More choices is better for consumers, of course, but it also makes people confused – kind of.
An S-Pen functionality was of course expected, this being a “Note” device. But unlike the Galaxy Note, this does not have a phone functionality. The Galaxy Note 10.1 looks just like the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1, so the only obvious difference is the stylus input feature. Samsung probably didn’t want to use another design specifically for the Note, and just decided to utilize the design of the 10.1 inch Tab. This explains the absence of a pen holder in the device, a poor design choice considering that the tablet is a Note variant. You can purchase a case though with a slot designed for the S-Pen.
The hardware set is good enough: 10.1-inch WXGA (1280 x 800) display, 1.4GHz dual-core CPU, 1GB of RAM, HSPA+, WiFi and Bluetooth 3.0, 3-megapixel rear camera, 2-megapixel front camera, 16, 32 or 64GB storage and microSD slot. In terms of software, the Galaxy Note 10.1 will run ICS with TouchWiz.

i imagine they did not bother to build one so they can sell more S-pens… hehe’
