Microsoft Windows 8 Consumer Preview Now Available for Download

Microsoft just announced the availability of Windows 8 Consumer Preview.  This beta version of Windows 8 is the latest build and Microsoft wants the public to take it for a spin.  Windows 8 is different from Windows 7 in that it is optimized for tablet as much as it is designed for desktop use.  According to Microsoft, with Windows 8, it reimagined the different ways people interact with their PC and how to make everything feel like a natural extension of the device, whether using a Windows 8 tablet, laptop or all-in-one.

  1. Tronjheim79, I agree with you.. it’s more ideal and futuristic than bada or android (atleast for me). I can’t wait for it to run on my future laptop hahaha.

I imagine this great on a tablet, but on a desktop or a notebook? Navigating it on my MBP is still confusing. I like all the Metro. The file explorer doesn’t seem to be touch-optimized… And the calendar app needs week view. OS X is still better as desktop/notebook OS IMO, but this looks promising nonetheless – on a tablet.
