Smart Offers Data Plan 1000 with Bundled High-End Phones

The competition is getting tougher so telcos always come out with special offers to attract subscribers.  Smart Communication’s latest offering bundles a data plan with generous amounts of free calls, text messages and mobile internet.  The subscription is called Data Plan 1000, a limited-edition plan that offers 500 SMS to all networks, 500 voice minutes to any number within the Smart network, and 1GB worth of data, of course for a monthly service fee of P1,000 and under a 24-month contract.  The plan is available only until May 8, 2012 so you may want to check it out now.

With Data Plan 1000, subscribers can get high-end smartphones for cheaper prices and on installment at 0% interest.  The choices are simply mouth-watering.  You can get devices like the Samsung Galaxy Note, Samsung Galaxy Nexus and HTC Sensation XE on low installments.

Here is the list of phones available with Smart’s Data Plan 1000:

  • Samsung Galaxy Note (P900 per month for 24 months)
  • Samsung Galaxy Nexus (P900 per month for 24 months)
  • Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0 (P800 per month for 24 months)
  • HTC Sensation XE with Beats Audio (P900 per month for 24 months)
  • HTC Evo 3D (P900 per month for 24 months)
  • Nokia N9 (P900 per month for 24 months)
  • BlackBerry Curve 9360 (P800 per month for 24 months)
  • BlackBerry Bold 9790 (P900 per month for 24 months)
  • BlackBerry Bold 9900 (P1,300 per month for 24 months)
  • Sony Ericsson Xperia Ray (P500 per month for 24 months)

How good is Data Plan 1000 compared to other plans from Smart?  The combination of 500 texts, 500 free minutes and 1GB free data is tempting enough even for a standalone plan.  500 free minutes is already a lot for an ordinary user and for heavy callers, this should also be sufficient.  What’s really enticing is the 1GB worth of free mobile internet.  For this amount of data, you can access social networking sites, browse websites and send and receive a lot of emails.  For a normal user, this should be more than enough for mobile internet use.

Will Data Plan 1000 be better than other plans, though? Let’s take a look at Data Plan 1000 with the Samsung Galaxy Nexus and compare this with Unli Data Plan 2000 where the handset is being offered for free.

Data Plan 1000 Unli Data Plan 2000
Free SMS 500 SMS to all networks 200 SMS to all networks
Free Calls 500 minutes (Smart to Smart) 150 minutes (Smart to Smart and Smart to other networks)
FreeMobileInternet 1GB Unlimited
Handset Cost P21,600 (P900 x 24 months) Free
Total Cost for Bundle P45,600 (P21,600 + 24,000) P48,000 (P2000 X 24 months)

From the above comparison, Samsung Galaxy Nexus on Data Plan 1000 is definitely cheaper.  This option offers more minutes and more free text messages, although Unli Data Plan 2000 offers unlimited internet whereas Data Plan 1000 only offers 1GB of data.  Data Plan 1000 is the more attractive bundle but it you’re after unlimited internet, you might be better off choosing Unli Data Plan 2000.  In essence, Data Plan 1000 offers users a new option of getting their dream phones and getting an ideal subscription plan.

  3. Smart Tagum CUSTOMER SERVICE sucks!!! I inquired about the requirements re: itr gross of 420,000 min would be enough. when we went back they said it should be net.

so we inquird about re:credit card and said credit limit should be 25thou. but since we had other appointments for that day we decide to apply for it the following day. when i wnt back the following day, i asked to clarify. the woman in charge of the application said it should be 30thou credit limit and so i said okay, i want to apply, and then she said that “ay maam dapat pala more than 30thou credit limit mo kasi meron pa kaming presumed credit limit”.

frustrated, angry, ano ba talaga miss? pwede ma mag training kayo ulit para hindi kayo pabago bago ng requirements! sad to sya globe service is way better than yours!
