The Dry Red No. 5 is actually part of Crumpler’s Dry Red Travel Collection which has eleven travel bags all in all.  If you’re looking for another kind of travel bag, check out this list of Dry Reds.

What I like about Crumpler Dry Red No. 5 is the host of storage zones it offers.  It has a front zippered pocket with business card holder, a four-compartment organiser, document pouch and key loop, a twin gripper zippered interior cargo space, an interior zippered pocket with mesh panel, an interior document sleeve, side-opening, fully padded zippered 15-inch laptop compartment and a cable pouch.  That should be enough for your travel needs.

By the number of storage features alone, the Crumpler Dry Red No. 5 bag should be an easy choice for travellers looking for the ultimate travel backpack.  The Dry Red No. 5 also features practical features like an expandable main compartment, adjustable padded shoulder harness, padded grab handle and perspiration control.  Of course, being a Crumpler bag, it has an amazing construction and uses water resistant material.  It’s also guaranteed to be tough since it has been torture-tested.  Crumpler has been in the bag business for long time it knows what the users need.  The Dry Bag No. 5 is a testament to this.

The free cable pouch is really useful for gadget freaks.  Cables usually go into just any pocket and get misplaced at times but with the cable pouch, you can organize those unruly wires and you’ll always know where they are.  The expandable compartment is also a useful feature, something that we only see in bigger travelling bags.  To see this in a backpack is something new.  There are other nice touches like a fully adjustable ergonomic harness that is aimed at distributing weight evenly across the shoulders, a padded grab handle, and Air Mesh padding at the back to control perspiration.

In actual use, the Crumpler Dry Bag No. 5 is more than one can ask for in a travel backpack.  It’s very light so I can carry it all day without having to put too much strain on my back.  It’s also sturdy, and it offers almost every kind of storage option.  It doesn’t hurt that it’s also chic and fashionable.   The unique features I love are the hidden side pocket that can also be used to store laptops or tablets and the front pocket with a variety of storage sleeves.

The Crumpler Dry Red No. 5 is priced at P6,950 and is available at these Crumpler stores:

  • Crumpler Bonifacio Highstreet
  • Crumpler Trinoma
  • CrumplerMegamall
  • Crumpler Robinsons Ermita

Rating: 8.8/10
