Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 Now Official

Samsung has officially announced the Galaxy Note 10.1.  As the name suggests, this is the 10.1-inch version of the smaller 5.3-inch Galaxy Note and like its smaller sibling, it also features an S-Pen stylus. Samsung has improved the design of the tablet since it was first revealed to the public months ago.  This time around, the Galaxy Note 10.1 has an S Pen slot.  The initial design did not offer a carrying slot.

The specs are quite impressive and should translate to a zippy gaming and multi-tasking performance.  The Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 comes with a 1.4GHz quad-core Exynos 4412 processor, a Mali 400MP GPU and 2GB of RAM.  This set of hardware should be fast enough even with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and should deliver an even faster and buttery performance when it’s updated to Jelly Bean in the future.  The Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 comes preloaded with S Pen-optimized apps like the S Note, S Planner, Crayon physics, Adobe Photoshop Touch, and Polaris Office, standard apps in the original Galaxy Note.

The Galaxy Note 10.1’s screen is good enough, but not revolutionary by current standards.  The Galaxy Note 10.1 comes with 10.1-inch screen with a 1280×800 resolution for a 149ppi density.  For storage, you’ll have options for 16GB, 32GB and 64GB varieties.  The rest of the specs include a 5MP rear camera with LED flash, a 1.9MP font-facing camera, a microSD card slot, and a SIM card slot for the 3G model.

Samsung is set to release a WiFi-only version a WiFi and 3G/HSPA-Plus version for now.  A WiFi and LTE version is going to be launched later in the year, though it’s doubtful if the LTE version will reach the Philippines.  The Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 will be available this month and pricing is set at about Php25,000 for the Wi-Fi only version and about Php31,000 for the 3G version.

Here’s an introductory video for the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1.
