HTC Desire X Announced

HTC just added another handset to its already formidable line-up.  This time though, it’s not a high-end phone that’s joining the Android party but a mid-range phone.

The HTC Desire X continues the Desire legacy but in some respect, it borrows from the One series.  What it closely resembles though is the HTC Desire V dual-SIM phone.  If you have seen the HTC Desire V, it’s like you’ve seen the Desire X.  They have the same font and back design and they possibly share the same materials and finish.  Below are a few press photos of the Desire X.  Go here if you want to see photos of the Desire V.

The HTC Desire X has decent hardware specs.  It packs 1Ghz dual-core Snapdragon S4 Processor paired with 768MB of RAM. The 4-inch WVGA (480 x 800 pixels) Super LCD display has the same optical lamination technology used on the HTC One X.  The internal storage is however a measly 4GB but there’s a microSD slot if you need more space. The rest of the specs include a 5-megapixel camera and 1,650mAh battery. The Desire X will run Android 4.0 ICS out of the Box with Sense overlay.

Pricing is still a mystery at this point.  HTC promised though that the Desire X will be priced lower than the One V.  The handset will become available in Europe and Asia (that includes the Philippines of course) starting September.
