LG Nexus 4 Photos and Specs Leaked

The launch of the next Google Nexus phone may be just around the corner.  Nothing is confirmed yet and everything reported up to this point are all just rumors.  Of the Nexus rumors to have flooded internet sites, the LG Nexus phone is the hardest to ignore, especially since clear, convincing photos have recently emerged.

After HTC and Samsung, the next brand to possibly make a Nexus phone is LG.  It is quite surprising for Google to choose LG as the hardware partner for its next Nexus phone but considering that LG has been making Android phones for quite a long time now, it should know how to make a good Nexus phone.  In any case, Google calls the shots design-wise so LG is mainly there to implement Google’s wishes.

Form the leaked photos (courtesy of the site Onliner), the LG Nexus phone, rumored to officially carry the LG Nexus 4 name, looks like a cross between the Samsung Galaxy Nexus and the HTC One X handset.  The profile is much like the Samsung Galaxy Nexus but the tapered glass that flows towards the edges certainly reminds me of the HTC One X.

The LG Nexus phone has the label LG E960 and is rumored to feature a 4.7-inch 1280 x 768 display and pack a quad-core Snapdragon S4 processor, 2GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage and 8 megapixel rear camera. The leaked device runs Android 4.1.2 but it could be running Android 4.2 come launch time, which is rumored to be on October 29.

The LG Nexus 4 looks like a real device but until Google and LG formally announces its existence, we should take everything with a grain of salt, so to speak.  My hope is for Google to launch multiple Nexus devices from several makers like Samsung, Sony, HTC and Motorola.
