Beats by Dr. Dre has an image of being a brand for the young generation. The high-end brand wishes to change this with the launch of the Beats Executive headphones. If the usual Beats cans are made of plastic, the Executive has a brushed aluminium finish with a premium look and feel.
The design combines a metallic look with black leather accents and dark grey leather pads. The Beats Executive is said to be easy to pack and carry as it can lay flat and even includes a hard shell carrying case. The signature Beats sound is of course to be expected coupled with active noise-cancelling. The Beats Executive is powered by two AAA batteries which is said to last for 25 hours. The Beats Executive retails for $299 (about P13,000). If bass is your thing, you might want to check these cans out.
The more interesting product launched by Beats is the Pill wireless speaker. The name was taken obviously from the shape of the speaker. Design-wise, the Beats Pill looks good. It’s something you’d want to display in your desk or in your room. In terms of connectivity features, the Pill has Bluetooth and NFC functionality. It can also be used as a speakerphone for hands free calls. The Beats Pill uses a rechargeable battery which is a plus for me. A single charge is good for 8 hours of playback.
The Beats Pill speaker is available in black, red or white. This speaker is priced at $199 (about P8,500).
