Samsung Galaxy S III Mini Gets P14,990 Price Tag

Samsung will officially be launching the Galaxy S III Mini in the Philippines very soon.  The Galaxy S III Mini has been previously announced but it’s only now that we are getting the official launch date in the Philippines, which is January 26 according to sources.

In case you know nothing about the Galaxy S III Mini at this point, please note that this is not a smaller version of the Galaxy S III.  It’s smaller, alright, but the specs are not the same.  The Galaxy S III Mini is a mid-range phone that sports way inferior specs, which is really a shame since it’s carrying the name of the bigger and better Galaxy S III brother.

The Galaxy S III Mini features a 4-inch Super AMOLED display with 800×480 resolution, which is not too “mini” actually considering that the iPhone 5 features the same screen size. Compared to the 4.8-inch Galaxy S III, however, it is indeed much smaller.  The rest of the main specs of the Galaxy S III mini include a 1GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, 8 or 16GB internal storage expandable via microSD slot, a 5-megapixel camera, VGA front camera and NFC capability.  For a more complete list of specs, go here.

The Samsung Galaxy S III Mini will run Android 4.1 Jelly Bean out of box.  The price of the handset, as the title suggests, is P14,990.  If you’re not in a hurry, you may wait for the availability in the Philippines of the recently announced Galaxy S II Plus.
