Smart Introduces “Bucket” LTE Offerings for Postpaid Subscribers

Hot off the heels of the activation in the Philippines of the LTE feature on the iPhone 5, Smart just announced that it’s offering “bucket” LTE offerings for its postpaid subscribers.  For as low as P50 a day, Smart subscribers can enjoy up to 42Mbps of internet speed on LTE-enabled devices. If you are have an LTE device but you don’t want to get an LTE plan, this is certainly good news.

Available until March 31, 2013, unlidata, regular and consumable Smart Postpaid subscribers can avail of 1-day, 7-day, and 30-day LTE packages for P50, P299, and P995 respectively.  To purchase an LTE package, users only need to send the appropriate key word to 2200. For the P50 package, for example, the subscriber needs to send “LTE 50” to 2200.

Before enrolling on this service however, make sure that you are in an area where LTE is available.  It’s a fact that LTE is not available everywhere but only in certain cities in the Philippines and also selected placed in Metro Manila.  Smart says it has LTE in over 770 establishments including malls, restaurants, and public areas  across 10 cities in Metro Manila and in select areas in Boracay, Cebu, and Davao.  If you’re registered, therefore, wait for that LTE logo signal to show up on your device.  Otherwise, you’ll get the HSPA+ or 3G signal instead.
