The Canon 60D will soon be replaced by the new DSLR model from Canon, the 70D. It looks a lot similar to the 60D but the internals are quite different. In fact, the Canon 70D is an improvement in most respects.
What the Canon 70D offers is not only a superb set of features for photos but industry leading features for shooting videos. The new Canon 70D sports continuous focus using what Canon calls the “Dual Pixel CMOS” focusing system. It allows for smooth auto-focusing when shooting videos and the result are pro-level videos. DSLRs are bad when it comes to auto-focusing in videos but Canon has changed the game yet again. And with smartphones getting better at shooting stills, Canon’s video features will make the DSLRs relevant again. It’s not near as good as the Canon 5D Mark III as it’s only a mid-range shooter but the specs are solid nonetheless. For filmmakers, this is a cheaper way to shoot videos.
The Canon 70D features Wi-Fi and NFC sharing, a 3-inch LCD display and a 20.2-megapixel APS-C sensor. It will be priced at $1,199 if you get the body only and $1,349 with lens. The Canon 70D uses Canon’s Digic 5+ image processor and has built-in image and video filters. The camera can shoot up to 7 frames per second. The Canon 70D will be available starting September.

The Canon EOS 70D is the company’s latest mid-range DSLR, featuring a
20.2 Megapixel APS-C sensor, Full HD video, a fully articulated
touch-screen monitor, built-in Wifi and an innovative new autofocusing
system which promises far superior performance during Live View and
movies. Announced in July 2013, it comes three years after the EOS 60D
and replaces that model, slotting between the EOS T5i / 700D and the
increasingly aged EOS 7D.
As with most new Canon DSLRs, the
EOS 70D borrows elements from existing models and repackages them with
at least one brand new feature. In terms of the former, the EOS 70D
inherits the 19-point all cross-type AF sensor of the EOS 7D, the
built-in Wifi of the EOS 6D (but not its GPS), and the fully-articulated
touch-screen display of the EOS T4i / 650D.
