Gionee Elife E6 Launched in the Philippines, Priced at P18,999

What would happen if you enlarge the iPhone and run Android on it?  You’d probably get something like the Gionee Elife E6.

Gionee is a new entrant in the Philippine market but it has been present in other countries like China and India.   One of the first Android offerings from Gionee is the mentioned Elife E6, a 5-inch Android phone that tries to impress with its hardware specs.   The phone’s 5-inch screen is a full HD display with 1920×1080 resolution.  It uses what Gionee calls LTPS (Low Temperature PolySilicon) with OGS (One Glass Solution).  What these terms mean is that the display should be sharp with great viewing angles.

The rest of the main specs include a 1.5GHz quad-core CPU, 2GB of RAM, 13-megapixel rear AF camera with LED flash, 5 megapixel front-facing, 32GB of internal storage, and a 2020mAh battery.  Sadly, the internal storage is non-expandable.  Gionee has a UI called Amigo OS running on top of Android 4.2.1 Jellybean.

For a brand that is just new in the Philippine mobile scene, the Gionee Elife E6 is quite expensive at P18,999.  The specs are admittedly nice but the price could make it hard for Gionee to break into the Philippine market.
