Google Nexus 5 Now Official, Priced at $349

With today’s announcement of the Nexus 5, there is no other Android device worth buying.  The Nexus 5 is probably the best Android phone out there especially when you take the $349 price into account.  Google is known for releasing Nexus devices which pack good specs and yet price them rather affordably.  The Nexus 5 is no different.  In fact, in terms of value for money, it’s probably the best smartphone to buy.

The Nexus 5 is an impressive piece of gadgetry, packing a 4.95-inch full HD 1080p display reinforced with Gorilla Glass 3.  It is expected to perform really well considering that it runs on a 2.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor paired with 2GB of RAM.   It also has the best possible combination of connectivity options which include LTE, Bluetooth 4.0, 802.11ac WiFi and NFC, not to mention the addition of wireless charging. Powering up the phone is a decent 2,300 mAh battery.  It also packs an 8-megapixel camera with optical image stabilization (OIS) for reducing blur.

In terms of design, the Nexus 5 actually looks good.  We have been treated with several leaks and they turned out to be true, but that’s not a surprise considering that Google itself leaked the device on the Google Play Store, although it pulled it down afterwards.

The Google Nexus 5 runs on Android 4.4 or KitKat.  It is available on the Play Store starting today in both white and black.  Google will releasing two models of the Nexus 5, one intended for America and Europe, and another for Asia, hopefully including the Philippines.  The16GB Nexus 5 is priced at $349 while the 32GB Nexus 5 will be priced at $399.
