Cherry Mobile Jelly, the Poor Man’s iPhone 5c

Cherry Mobile releases phones almost every week.  At least that’s how it looks to me.  The local phone brand has too many handsets in its line-up it’s easy for anyone to lose track.  There is a new phone being teased by Cherry Mobile and it’s called the Jelly.  It’s another cheap Android phone, priced at only P2,299.  The name Cherry Mobile Jelly is very apt for the phone, not only because it runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, but also because it is being offered in a variety of bright colors it reminds you of jelly.   Or for others, the Cherry Mobile Jelly reminds them of the iPhone 5c.

But the similarity ends there.  The specs of the Cherry Mobile Jelly are nowhere near the level of the iPhone 5c.  For the price of P2,299, you would already know that the Jelly offers low-end hardware.

For starters, the Cherry Mobile Jelly packs a rather small 3.5 inch screen, although it has a built-in TV tuner.  This is a bonus feature on a handset priced this low but users would only have a hard time watching TV on a really small screen.  Other features of the Cherry Mobile Jelly include a 5-megapixel rear camera and a 0.3-megapilxe front shooter.  Thankfully it also offers the essential connectivity features like WiFi, Bluetooth and even GPS.

Cherry Mobile is quiet about the other specs of the Jelly, specifically about the RAM capacity, internal storage and battery capacity.  In all likelihood, the Cherry Mobile Jelly will only pack a 512MB of RAM at best, and possibly even lower (256MB).  After all, the price of the Jelly is really too low.

Here are the main specs of the Cherry Mobile Jelly.

  1. My phone memory of this Model is so low. Need to find another bigger and much better phone memory replace for this.
