Instagram Direct Lets Users Send Photos and Videos to Specific People

If you’re a smartphone user, chances are, you know Instagram.  It’s the wildly popular photo and video sharing app that has attracted millions of users, including Facebook.  That’s why it was bought by Mark Zuckerberg for a whopping billion dollars.

In any case, Instagram has a new feature called Instagram Direct. This feature is included in the new update so if you want to try it out, go update your Instagram to version 5.0, both on iOS and Android.  Instagram Direct lets users send photos and videos to specific people on Instagram so it’s, in a way, a feature similar to direct messaging.

Now, when you open Instagram, there will be a new icon in the top right corner where all photos and videos sent directly to you are stored.  If you want to send a photo or video, you only need to look for the share option in the editing window.  You have the option of sharing with your followers or sending it to specific people.  Photos and videos sent by people you know will be shown immediately while those sent by those you don’t will come with an option to view or to discard.
