Apple’s new Mac Pro introduced in October is now available for purchase. The new Mac Pro sports a new radical redesigned that resembles a can, though futuristic and somewhat menacing. It is cylindrical in shape, departing from traditional designs. I honestly don’t like its shape as I fear that I will mistake it for a trash bin.
The new Mac Pro has top of the line specs but they come with a heavy price. The cheapest configuration is priced at $2,999 and that gets you a 3.7 GHz quad-core Intel Xeon E5 CPU with Turbo Boost speeds up to 3.9 GHz, dual AMD FirePro D300 GPUs with 2GB of VRAM, 12GB of RAM and 256GB storage.
Another configuration of the Mac Pro comes with a 3.5 GHz 6-core Intel Xeon E5 CPU, 16GB of RAM and 256GB storage and this one is priced at $3,999. If that is still too slow for your needs, try a better configuration like an 8-core or 12-core Intel Xeon E5 processors with 6GB AMD FirePro D700 GPUs and up to 64GB of RAM and 1TB of flash storage. For connectivity options, the new Mac Pro has dual Ethernet ports, HDMI, six Thunderbolt 2 ports, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi 802.11ac and four USB 3.0 ports.
All the firepower of the new Mac Pro will be too much for the ordinary desktop user but speed freaks will surely salivate at its specs.
