LG Optimus L1 II Tri is a Triple-SIM Phone

LG will be releasing the LG Optimus L1 II Tri, a triple-SIM phone, for the Brazilian market. I’m not entirely convinced that the world needs a phone that can carry 3 separate numbers. Anyway, the phone has a 3-inch QVGA screen (240 x 320), a 1 GHz processor, 4GB of storage (expandable via microSD card), 512MB of RAM, 1,540 mAh battery and 3G connectivity for all 3 SIMs.

This smallish handset has a 2MP camera which comes with a “cheese shot” feature wherein you can take a photo by simply saying “cheese, or any other text of your choice.” . The phone will run Android 4.1 Jelly Bean with LG’s customized skin.

Besides the cheese shot, there’s also Radio recording with Time Machine support, which means the device will start to record songs off the radio, even before you hit the key. It even claims to remove a radio DJ’s voice from the song. And Safety Care, an app which sends out texts to predetermined numbers if you call an emergency number and can be set to send out an alert if the phone hasn’t been used during a set period.

According to LG Brazil’s official website, the phone will come in black, white and pink, and would cost around $127. It is not yet known if LG is planning to release the phone internationally. But if it does come here, do we need triple-SIM?
