Flappy Bird’s Creator Interviewed, Considers Reviving Flappy Bird

Flappy Bird (4)

It has been a month since the highly popular and controversial game, Flappy Bird, was pulled from all app stores by game maker Nguyen Ha Dong. The 28 year old Vietnamese developer is doing quite well since then, still earning tens of thousands of dollars off his addictive hit of a game, as well as a few more of his that gained success through association.

“I can’t go back to my life before, but I’m good now,” said Nguyen during an interview with Rolling Stones magazine, which was published last Tuesday. In the interview, he detailed the reason why the game was pulled out, pointing out its addictive nature, and its effect on the players. “I realize they really hurt themselves,” quipped Nguyen. As an avid Counter Strike fan, he saw his grades suffer, and knows firsthand the effects addictive games have on players.

When asked about a potential Flappy Birds return, his answer was simple – I’m considering it.

Aside from Flappy Bird, the Vietnamese developer is working on three new games: a cowboy-themed shooter, a vertical flying game called Kitty Jetpack and an action chess game called Checkonaut. One of these games will be scheduled for release this month.

Nguyen never wanted the attention he got when Flappy Bird became viral, stating he just enjoys making games.

What do you guys think? Are you ready for a Flappy Bird return?
