If you own an LG G2, then I have some good news for you. LG Electronics has announced that the award winning smartphone will get the Android 4.4 KitKat update this month. The upgrade is said to bring improvements and optimizations to the G2’s user interface, power management, and processing speed.

With KitKat, the G2 will play music more efficiently, and adds better support for the battery saving location mode by reducing the number of reference points used to track your location. Speed is also much improved as applications run 17 percent faster. Browsing speed is also said to be faster. Whether or not all this translates to significant differences in real world use remains to be seen.

The LG G2 16GB variant is priced at P24,990, with the 32GB variant priced at P29,990.
