PH Telcos Announced Postpaid Plans for Samsung Galaxy S5

Local telcos Smart and Globe have announced their postpaid plans for the Samsung Galaxy S5, in preparation for its official arrival in April.

Under Smart’s Unli Surf Plan 999, you can get the Samsung Galaxy S5 for only P800 a month, for 24 months. That would make the phone only P19,200 (for the 24 month duration minus the plan). Alternatively, you can get it free (no cash out) under Unli Surf Plan 2000 with lock in period of 30 months.

Subscriptions from Globe have more variations, allowing a bit of flexibility. Under Globe’s mySuperPlan, you can get it at P1,699 a month, for 24 months. That’s P999 for the plan and P700 for the phone.

Here are the other packages under Globe’s postpaid plans:

Globe’s postpaid packages also include free access to Facebook until April 25.

Samsung’s flagships are always specced out. Most of the time, they put in the best current specs and features. I, for one, am interested, but not enough to get one. I feel the upgrade is not compelling enough for now. And I would at least want to see how most people would react to it first.

How about you? Are you going to get the Samsung Galaxy S5? What do you think of Smart’s and Globe’s plans? Is the S5 worth it in the first place?
