LG Philippines has recently announced their new L III series of budget phones, the L40, the L70 and the L80.

The LG L40 features a 3.5 inch IPS LCD display (320×480, 165ppi) with Gorilla Glass 2, 1.2GHz dual-core Snapdragon 200 CPU, an Adreno 302 GPU, 4GB of storage (+microSD), 512MB of RAM, a 3MP rear cam, and a 1700/1540mAh battery.

The LG L70, on the other hand, has a 4.5 inch IPS LCD display (480×800, 207ppi) with Gorilla Glass 2, 1.2GHz dual-core Snapdragon 200  CPU, an Adreno 302 GPU, 4GB of storage (+microSD), 1GB of RAM, a 5MP rear cam, and a 2100Ah battery.

And lastly,  the LG L80 has a 5 inch IPS LCD display (480×800, 187ppi) with Gorilla Glass 2, 1.2GHz dual-core Snapdragon 200 CPU, an Adreno 302 GPU, 4GB of storage (+microSD), 1GB of RAM, a 5MP rear cam, and a 2540mAh battery.

All three phones run Android 4.4.2 KitKat, with LG’s proprietary UI on top.

Both the LG L40 and the L70 are now available locally. The L40 is priced at P4,790, while the L70 is priced at P8,490. The LG L80 has no price yet, but is scheduled for release sometime this month.

The pricing on these phones are definitely competitive. And with KitKat on board, I think even the L40 (with its 512MB RAM) will run smoothly. The low ppi on the L70 and the L80 might cause some pixelation, but at this price point, one cannot argue with the specs.
