Every once in awhile, even the most careful gadgeteer will accidentally drop their beloved gadgets. And what better way to prevent scratches and damages, than by using a case to protect your device.
The good people of Applewerkz, a company that imports and distributes premium cases and accessories for brands like Apple and Samsung, sent us a case for the iPad Mini to try out – the Comet Cover from Ion Factory.
What’s in the box:
The Comet Cover came in an underwhelming clear plastic packaging, that doesn’t say much about what’s inside.
Looking at the case, the cover is made with a nice leatherette material, with a thin layer of soft foam underneath. It felt soft when pressed. It looks very minimalist, and thin. The stitching also adds a nice touch to the overall aesthetic.
The top cover probably has small magnets that snap the case shut. It also has an auto sleep/wake function whenever I open or close the cover.
Underneath the cover is a soft felt like material that keeps the screen from getting scratches. The inside of the back shell also has a soft felt like material, and should keep the back of iPad Mini from getting scuffed.
The back shell fits the iPad Mini perfectly. All the cutouts for the buttons, speakers, camera, mic and switch are exact. It also has a nice matte chrome finish. It feels strong, and will definitely protect the Mini from minor drops.
Wrap Up:
All in all, the Comet Cover looks very beautiful on the iPad Mini. The clean design makes the Mini look elegant and professional. To be honest, it didn’t look like much when I first opened the package, but I was really surprised of how good it looks when I fit the Mini on it.
