First Mi phone to be sold in the PH will be the Mi3

Mi Philippines (Xiaomi PH) has just announced on their Facebook page that the first Mi phone they will be selling in the country will be the Mi3. There is no price or release date mentioned, but we know its going to be sometime soon. We say soon because of a two reasons that happened earlier this week: First, their site went up; and second, Hugo Barra, former Google VP and current Xiaomi global VP, was in the country (presumably to prepare for the company’s launch locally).

Mi3 is Xiaomi’s premier handset. The phone sold out in Malaysia in less than 20 minutes. And if it sells at a price point similar to what it was sold there (converted to around P12,500), then it has a potential to be a hit here.

I, for one, am excited to see the phone. It looks amazing, and the specs are definitely top notch.

The Mi3 is packed with a 2.3Ghz quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 CPU, Adreno 330 GPU, a 5 inch Full HD 1080p IPS display, 16GB of storage, 2GB of RAM, and a 13MP f/2.2 rear cam. The smartphone is powered by a 3,050mAh battery, and runs MIUI ROM Android 4.3 (Upgradeable to KitKat). The body is made up of magnesium alloy frame coated with three layers of thermal graphite, making the device light and sturdy.
