At the 2014 Red Dot Design Awards recently held in Essen, Germany, the LG G3 smartphone was given the “Best of the Best” award after winning a total of nine awards in the Communication Design category.

Among the smartphone’s features cited in the Awards are its Smart Keyboard, Knock Code, and its redesigned graphic user interface (GUI). LG bested 7,096 entries from 49 countries in the said category of one of the most important competitions in the global design industry.

The LG G3’s GUI indeed provides an intuitive, more enjoyable user experience. Redesigned from the ground up, the GUI features a clean, stylish appearance that adopts LG’s new flat and simple design language in sophisticated pastel colors with a distinctive circular motif consistent with the company’s iconic logo.

Notably, LG G3 became the launch vehicle as well for LG’s Smart Keyboard whose adaptive software analyzes typing habits and predicts word choices, thus making typing faster and infinitely easier.

The Knock Code, on the other hand, lets LG smartphone owners wake and unlock their LG smartphones in the most secure and fun way, that is, through a personalized series of taps in lieu of a password or a nine-dot pattern.

Advanced Smartphone

The 2014-2015 European Imaging and Sound Association (EISA) Awards also gave LG G3 top ratings and named it the “European Advanced Smartphone” in its recently held awarding ceremonies in Berlin, Germany.

A unique association of 50 special interest magazines from 20 European countries, EISA said that LG G3 was a clear winner with its 5.5-inch LCD IPS display with sleek design and high resolution that is four times HD.

EISA also cited LG G3’s other outstanding features like its phone camera which is fitted with a 13-million-pixel sensor and an image stabilizer that enables laser-beam assisted autofocus system, as well as its high-resolution audio playback (192kHz/24-bits) that has a one-watt (1W) speaker with boost amplifier.

Launched in the Philippines in July of this year, LG G3 runs on the latest Android 4.4.2 KitKat and captivates with its trademark Floating Arc design with a hassle-free wireless charging. Adding color to its initial black and white color variants are the classy Shine Gold and Burgundy Red LG G3s which are now available at LG concept stores and dealers nationwide.

Aside from receiving awards from international award-giving bodies, the LG G3 has also been well-received by global tech and business media. Forbes and Bloomberg BusinessWeek call it “The Perfect Smartphone,” The Huffington Post recognizes it as “The Best Android Phone Available Today,” the Graham Jury Awards names it as the “2014 Smartphone of the Year,” while the PCWorld hails it as “The Year’s Best Innovation.”
