LG Display has made a 5.3 inch LCD panel with a very small bezel of just 0.7mm. The display of 1080p resolution has an eye popping pixel density of 415ppi.

To achieve this, LG Display used “Neo Edge” module processing technology as well as the first “Advanced In-Cell Touch (AIT)” technology. As GSM Arena explains:

“Neo Edge” uses a special adhesive instead of the traditional double-sided tape to attach and seal the backlight unit to the display panel’s circuit board. This achieves minimal bezel width and blocks light leakage. Another bonus is that it makes the display waterproof and dustproof.

Mass production of the display panel will begin in November. The first companies to make use of it will be based in China.

So there you go. The bezels on the image is so tiny that it looks fake. I guess we’ll soon see smartphones from Mi, Oppo, Huawei, etc. with tiny bezels soon. Besides an LG version of course.
