Asus Zenfone Zoom is a smartphone with 3x optical zoom and laser auto-focus

Besides the Zenfone 2, Asus also announced the Zenfone Zoom. This photgraphy centric phone comes with the same 5.5 inch full HD display as the Zenfone 2, and a 13MP Pixel Master camera that features 3x optical zoom lens with optical image stabilization (OIS). Billed as the world’s thinnest 3x optical zoom smartphone, the device keeps a thin profile with a thickness of 11.95mm.

Asus’ announcement didn’t include any information about the rest of the specs, but I guess it’s safe to assume that it won’t be too far from what the Zenfone 2 offers. As for its shooting prowess, 13MP Pixel Master camera include HDR and a manual mode, an aperture range of f/2.7 to f/4.8, a 10-element 3x optical zoom lens, the aforementioned OIS, laser auto-focus, and dual-color Real Tone flash.

The Zenfone Zoom will be priced at $399 before taxes or roughly Php18,000, and will be available in Q2 of 2015.
