ASUS Showcases MiniPCs for Work and Play

Is PC making a comeback? If so, ASUS Philippines is leading the charge. The consumer electronics giant recently showcased four new mini PCs at the R Space in Makati. Each PC is built and designed for a variety of uses from gaming to homeworks.

ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) GR8

The ROG GR8 is a smallish gaming PC with console looks and impressive specs. The 2.5 liter chassis houses an Intel Core-i7 processor and an Nvidia GTX 750Ti graphics card. With enough power to run the latest games in high detail at 1080p resolution without a sweat, this high-performance PC also has ROG gaming features like the Sonic Radar II, GameFirst III, and Sonic Studio.

The ROG GR8 comes with an ASUS M801 mechanical keyboard and an ROG Gladius mouse.

ASUS VivoPC

The ASUS VivoPC is the everyday PC in a very compact form factor. Occupying a space smaller than an A4 paper, it is perfect for homes with limited spaces. You can place it behind monitors or TVs using it’s VESA mounts.

One of the strengths of the VivoPC is that the storage and memory can be upgraded if needed. It can accommodate a single 3.5” desktop HDD, or two 2.5” HDDs or SSDs while its memory can be upgraded up to 16GB. It is also compatible with the latest 802.11ac standard for high-speed wireless connectivity.

ASUS ChromeBox

For those looking for something different, the ASUS Chromebox blends efficiency with formidable hardware. Contrary to popular belief, Google’s Chrome OS isn’t just a browser masquerading as an operation system. Its functional, albeit with limitations, with promises of speed, constant updates in security, and support for a wide variety of applications.

This little box is powered by an Intel Core-i7 processor for speed, further complimented with 4GB of RAM and 16GB of SSD storage.

ASUS VivoMini

Despite being smaller than it’s counterparts, the VivoMini will surprise you with it’s performance and functionality. It comes with an Intel Core-i processor with 4GB of RAM that you can upgrade up to 16GB. For storage, it uses a 32GB mSATA SSD, also upgradeable to 256GB.

The VivoMini supports 4K and up to three independent displays. It also operates silently, generating only 18.5dB and consuming 6.95W at idle.

Pricing

The ROG GR8 starts at P57,990. It comes with an ASUS M801 Mechanical Keyboard and ROG Gladius Mouse. Also available with an ASUS Wireless Keyboard and Mouse, the ASUS VivoPC has an SRP of P16,990. The ASUS Chromebox’s SRP is P48,099 and comes complete with Wireless Keyboard and Mouse, Web Camera, Speaker, and Remote. The price of the ASUS VivoMini is still not available at this time.
