Everyone was in awe when the ASUS ZenFone 2 was announced in Indonesia and then in the Philippines. It was the star of the show, but it wasn’t the only thing ASUS showed fans and tech enthusiasts alike. The Taiwan electronics giant had a slew of accessories they showcased that day, and among them was the ZenPower, a small powerbank with a 10,050 mAh capacity.
The ZenPower is housed inside a one-piece aluminum shell. It has a small form factor which measures in at 90.5 x 59 x 22 mm. The rectangular credit card shaped device has a matte finish, and a simple, yet refined, design. Mine is colored gold, which I personally find elegant, but it is also available in black, silver, red, and blue.
On top of the ZenPower, you will find the power indicator buttons and LEDs, the micro USB port and a regular sized USB port. The bottom has the relevant product information. Both sides are made of good quality plastic. The device has an excellent build quality. The choice of materials and the shape give it a very solid feel.
The ZenPower has a capacity of 10,050 mAh inside that small(ish) body. It means you can charge your ZenFone 2 twice. And the output of 5.1v or 2.4A means it can charge the same smartphone (and most flagships for that matter) in 1 to 2 hours. It takes 6 hours to charge the device.
One of the more interesting features of the ZenPower is that it can monitors ambient temperatures and adjusts the charging current accordingly. This ensures the safety of your smartphone and the powerbank.
Those in the market for a powerbank need not look no further. With an SRP of only Php795, the ZenPower can’t be beat. For that price, you get a huge 10,050 mAh capacity, a small form factor, good design, a high output, and a smart monitor. Best of all, it comes from a trusted brand in consumer electronics, ASUS.
The ASUS ZenPower will be available on Lazada starting June 25, 2015 and authorized re-sellers on July 2015.
