Design
The Punk measures in at 3.5 x 3.5 x 1.6 inches. It’s size, square shape and curved edges make it on of the more portable speakers out there. It is easy to store and fits most bags and backpacks. It is well made, with a very solid construction and has impressive build quality.
The speaker grill is made of high quality plastic. While the sides are ringed with a rubber material, making it more resistant to splashes and drops. The speaker panel is adorned by the Sol Republic logo. The ports are on the on the left side panel, protected by a rubber flap. On the top panel is where the volume and play controls can found, along with the Bluetooth button on the edge. The bottom panel has a standard screw mount which allows you to attach it to, say a mountain bike (for those outdoorsy types) or any mount that fits it.
Performance
For it’s size, the Punk is really loud. That’s the first thing you’ll notice once you pair it with your phone and start playing music. It can easily fill a small or medium sized room. Sound has good clarity, with the vocals and instruments popping. Bass is generally good as well, but you’ll start hearing distortion when you raise the volume. This is more evident in bass heavy tracks. Otherwise, overall audio performance is good.

The Punk is highly recommended, especially to those looking for a stylish and highly portable speaker. The fact that it’s water and dust resistant, and that it can easily survive drops is gravy. It lasts long with battery life that can last you a normal workday. Audio performance is good as well, with decent bass and good crisp sound.
