“We’re excited to partner with Uber, the world’s leading technology company that is transforming urban mobility, to bring its innovative digitally enabled service to more commuters in the Philippines. Filipinos are early adopters of new technology and through this partnership with Uber, we’re providing our subscribers the opportunity to make their ride experience even more convenient and enjoyable,” said PLDT and Smart Chairman Manuel V. Pangilinan.

More Value with Smart and Uber

The Smart-Uber partnership brings more value to passengers, which will be rolled out over the coming weeks.

For Uber passengers:

  • Free in-car Smart Wi-Fi. Uber passengers can now connect to the vehicle’s on-board Wi-Fi and surf the net. This comes particularly handy, especially now because of the traffic. The service will be initially available on select Uber Black vehicles, and then to all Uber vehicles over the next months.
  • Special Offers. Smart Uber passengers will be able to avail special promotions, discounts and on-demand experiences.

For Uber partner drivers:

  • Exclusive Prepaid and Postpaid Packages. Smart is offering exclusive voice and data packages, bundles and add-ons for Uber partner drivers.
  • Exclusive phone offers. Smart SIM cards, special handsets and tablets are made available via an Uber online store using the Tack This! eCommerce platform from Voyager Innovations.

Wait, There’s More!

As an added bonus, Smart is giving two FREE Uber rides (worth PHP300 each) to subscribers in Metro Manila who are also first time users of the Uber app. To get the free rides, just visit www.smart.com.ph/uber and register your Smart number. Once that’s done, you’ll get a promo code you can input on the Uber app before you take a ride.
