Google unveils LG Nexus 5X and Huawei Nexus 6P

Google officially announces two new Nexus devices, the LG Nexus 5X and the Huawei Nexus 6P. One of the worst kept secrets in tech (because of all the leaks), the new devices feature a better 12.3 MP camera, a fingerprint sensor, a USB Type-C port, and Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

LG Nexus 5X

The LG Nexus 5X comes with a 5.2 inch full HD LCD display protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. It has an oleophobic coating to make it slightly resistant to fingerprints and smudges. Inside the new 5X is a 64bit 1.8 GHz hexa-core Snapdragon 808 processor with 2 GB of RAM and an Adreno 418 GPU. As is the older Nexus phones, there is a 16 GB and a 32 GB version, and still no slot for a micro SD card. The new Nexus runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

The Nexus 5X has two new interesting hardware: a better camera and a new fingerprint sensor. The camera uses a 12.3 MP sensor with a pixel size of 1.55 μm, allowing it to capture more light. Surprisingly, there is no Optical Image Stabilization but it does have an IR laser autofocus.

The new fingerprint sensor, called Nexus Imprint, is placed on the back. It allows for one touch unlocking for quick access to the phone.
