Ever since Google started seeding Android 6.0 Marshmallow to Nexus devices early this month, almost everyone has been asking: When will my phone get it? Google’s latest mobile OS update comes with new features like Doze, and a host of bug fixes and performance upgrades.
It will take some time before our phones start getting Marshmallow. As the process goes, phone manufacturers take time preparing and testing the OS on various devices. Most need to make changes based on their ROM like Samsung’s TouchWiz. So, in the meantime, here’s a list of devices that will get Google’s latest Android iterations. Take note that the lists are not final. It could change, depending on each manufacturer. If you’re phone is not on the list, there’s a chance you still might get it.
Nexus and Android One
Let’s start with Google’s own devices. Marshmallow started seeding to Nexus 5, 6, 7 and 9 on October 5. If you haven’t gotten it yet, you could download the factory images and try your luck with a manual install. The newest Nexus will come with Marshmallow out of the box.
Android One devices will also start getting Marshmallow soon. The Cherry Mobile One G1, Cherry Mobile One, MyPhone Uno could soon be the first local devices to get it.
Samsung
My daily driver right now is a Galaxy S6. So, I’m watching this one closely. According to Sammobile, Samsung is already testing Marshmallow on a number of devices. And since this is Samsung, we have no idea when the update will come.

Sony
Sony has already announced which devices will get Android 6.0. Some of it’s devices will reportedly skip Lollipop and jump straight to Marshmallow. There is no date yet for the release.

LG
LG might be the first non-Nexus device to get Marshmallow. The Korean company announced that LG G4 owners in Poland will start receiving the updated this week, and eventually followed by Europe, Asia and the Americas. That means updates for the LG G3 and the LG G2 will not be far behind.
Huawei
The world’s third largest smartphone vendor also announced its list of devices to get Marshmallow. The update will probably go to China based devices first. It might take awhile before the release goes international.

Motorola
Motorola has officially landed in the country. Their recent devices run stock Android and have almost always gotten updates out fast. The Lenovo-owned company announced their update list.

HTC
HTC also announced which devices will get Marshmallow. Some of their devices will also reportedly skip Android 5.1.1 and go straight to Android 6.0.
