The Samsung Galaxy Note7 has finally arrived! Introduced locally at the same time with the rest of the world, their newest phablet comes with an improved S Pen, a water resistant body and a sleek new design.
Samsung’s much awaited flagship boasts a very premium design (I particularly like the Black Onyx version), and bring improvements to familiar features and introduced new ones that, for the most part, work really well.
Samsung Galaxy Note7
Let’s have a quick rundown of the Samsung Galaxy Note 7’s specifications. The phablet comes with a 5.7-inch dual edge Super AMOLED display. Under the hood, you have a 64-bit octa-core Exynos processor, coupled with 4GB of RAM and a Mali-T880 MP12 graphics chip. For photography enthusiasts, the device comes with a 12MP main camera, equipped with an optical image stabilizer and a bright f/1.7 lens. Battery capacity is generous at 3,500 mAh, and supports fast charging (wired and wireless), charged via a USB Type-C port.
The Note7 has an IP68 water and dust resistance. Meaning it could survive submerged in up to 5 feet of water for up to 30 minutes.
One of the more interesting features of the Note7 is the iris scanner. It’s fairly accurate and it can distinguish between an actual eye vs. an image of one.
The S Pen is what makes the Note7 a Note7. Now on its 6th iteration, the stylus has matured with updated features and functionalities. It has small 0.7 mm tip and improved pressure sensitivity allows for more accurate use.
