Fitbit Unveils Fitbit Charge 2, Fitbit Flex 2; Announces Fitbit Adventures

Fitbit continues its success in the connected health and fitness market with the introduction of the Fitbit Charge 2 and Fitbit Flex 2 in the Philippines.

The Fitbit Charge 2 is the company’s second iteration of their most popular health tracker, the Fitbit Charge. The tracker boasts a sleek, fashion-forward design coupled with a bigger OLED display, new features and interchangeable wrist bands.

Aside from the usual tracking functions found in the company’s trackers, the Charge 2 adds a PurePlus heart rate monitor, Guided Breathing Experience function, multi-sports tracking and Connected GPS.

The Charge 2 retails for P8,499 and will be available in late October. It comes in four colors of black, plum, blue and teal. A special edition series in gunmetal and rose gold (P8,699) is coming soon. You can check it out in major retailers including Digital Walker, Beyond the Box, Toby’s stores, Lazada, Zalora and more.

Fitbit Flex 2

The Fitbit Flex 2 is an ultra-slim, waterproof fitness tracking module. With a size 30% smaller than its predecessor, the tracker can be placed on different types of accessories, bands and bracelets, depending on the activity or event.

The tracker’s waterproofing allows it to be used while swimming and is resistant up to 50 meters. It can track laps, duration, and calories burned while swimming or doing laps in a pool.

The Flex 2 doesn’t have a display, but instead uses simple LED that lights up with different colors to notify the user.

The Flex 2 comes in classic fitness bands of black, lavender, magenta or navy, and retails for P5,499. The replacement fitness accessory bands and Sports bands retail for P1,399; the Bangle Accessory in gold and rose gold for P4,699; and the Pendant accessory in gold and silver for P3,799.

Fitbit Adventures

Fitbit also announced Fitbit Adventures, a series of immersive, non-competitive activity challenges designed to keep you moving for improved health and fitness.

“Fitbit Adventures are the perfect motivation for anyone who may not want to compete in a traditional Fitbit group challenge with friends or family. These new challenges inspire you to move more through virtual explorations of some of the most captivating environments in the world – places you might not be able to visit otherwise – all powered by your daily step activity,” said Tim Roberts, Executive Vice President, Interactive at Fitbit.

At the moment, Fitbit Adventures offers activities in the United States, with future updates adding new destinations and experiences from around the world.

Fitbit Adventures is available globally through their free app, and is compatible with Fitbit’s full family of activity tracking products.
