iPhone X: Specs, Price, Availability

The iPhone X is finally official! And to everyone’s surprise (not really), the new iPhone has removed the iconic home button, allowing for the extra screen real estate.

With the omission of the home button, the iPhone X (or iPhone 10) has an all screen design promoted by the edge-to-edge 5.8-inch HDR OLED Super Retina display. It has curved corners, allowing for maximum coverage at the edges of the device. It also has True Tone, a technology that uses the ambient light sensor to adapt the white balance of the screen depending on your environment.

The device’s build uses front and back glass panels, and a surgical grade stainless steel frame for added durability. For added protection, it also has an IP67 rating, making it splash, water and dust resistant.

Under the hood, you have Apple’s A11 Bionic hexa-core SoC with improved speed and performance. It has a new Apple-designed GPU with three cores said to be 30 percent faster than the previous one. Lastly, the new chip can also power augmented reality in games and apps.

In lieu of a home button, the iPhone X unlocks via Face ID. The TrueDepth camera system analyzes the user’s face, allowing one to unlock it just by looking at it. Apple believes in the system so much that they enabled it for Apple Pay as well.
